Welcome to The Little Puddings website. Booking and Fees

  • Payment for all courses must be paid in full for your place to be secured unless otherwise stated.
  • The Little Puddings offer an online booking service, once the booking form has been completed and submitted, payment in full received and the booking validated by The Little Puddings you will be sent confirmation of your booking via the email address you have provided. Bookings are subject to these Terms and Conditions together with our website terms and conditions which are hereby incorporated.
  • Our preferred form of payment is via bank transfer or credit/debit card.
  • Receiving email acknowledgement of payment is confirmation of your request to book a child on The Little Puddings course.
  • For safety reasons we can only guarantee a place on any course to those booking in advance. Those that arrive on the day will not be guaranteed a place.
  • All bookings are subject to the right to cancel in writing (by e-mail to us) within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date that you receive e-mail acknowledgement of the booking pursuant to the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Outside of this fourteen (14) day period all bookings confirmed by us are final and non-refundable.
  • Medical information – Any medical conditions that any participant may have must be fully disclosed (1) at the time of booking in writing to The Little Puddings.
  • We DO NOT charge for sessions that WE cancel. Where cancelled sessions do happen, a credit or refund will be issued to your account.
  • We DO charge for available sessions that YOU do not attend. We do not offer refunds or credits for unattended sessions.

Code of Conduct

  • You must comply with all rules and regulations issued by The Little Puddings from time to time
  • If The Little Puddings consider that you or the person you have booked onto a course have behaved in an unacceptable manner, The Little Puddings will be entitled to require you to cease to attend any course. If we are unable to reallocate your place, no refund of fees will be made.
  • Please ensure that you arrive 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time of your class, so that you have time to wash your hands and put an apron on.

Liability

  • We make every effort to ensure the cooking workshops are as safe and
    enjoyable as possible, however, please be aware that cooking may on occasion involve the use of potentially dangerous kitchen utensils and equipment including but not limited to knives, graters, peelers, hobs, ovens, food processors.
  • The Little Puddings have a set of safety procedures including appropriate insurance in place to minimise the risks of any potential hazard but cannot be held responsible for any injury or damage that might occur during a The Little Puddings course.
  • You must not bring any items of special value to our courses. The Little Puddings will not accept responsibility for the loss of any personal possessions.
  • We will not be liable for any loss suffered by you which is indirect, special or consequential.
  • We will not be liable for any loss suffered by you resulting from any event which is beyond our reasonable control.

Film/Photography

  • The Little Puddings may from time to time take photographs/film of The Little Puddings course, the use of this data is solely for the purpose of promoting and publicising The Little Puddings Activities through literature, website, social media, press and other media.
  • Parents/guardians that do not wish for their child to be photographed/filmed must make The Little Puddings aware of this at the time of booking or in writing before the course starts (where possible The Little Puddings will inform parents/guardians at the start of a class).
  • The Little Puddings will hold all personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

Health & Safety

  • By agreeing to these terms and conditions you are providing consent for The Little Puddings staff to administer any and all necessary first aid to your child as required at any time.
  • For safety reasons it is compulsory for all attendees to tie long hair back and wear an apron.
  • Following your class, you will follow all our instructions for the preparation, transportation, storage, reheating, cooking and consumption of meals.
  • It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to ensure appropriate clothing is worn.

Sickness & Injury

  • We urge all parents to please use common sense when deciding whether or not your child is too ill to attend the cookery class. Ask yourself the following questions:

• Is my child well enough to do the course? If not, keep your child at home.

• Does my child have a condition that could be passed on to other children or staff? If so, keep your child at home.

• Would I take a day off work if I had this condition? If so, keep your child at home.

Vomiting and diarrhoea

  • Children with diarrhoea and/or vomiting should definitely be kept off until at least 48 hours after their symptoms have gone. Most cases of diarrhoea and vomiting in children get better without treatment, but if symptoms persist, consult your GP.

Chickenpox.

  • If your child has chickenpox, keep them off the cooking course until all their spots have crusted over.

Food Allergy Policy

  • Ingredients may contain or have been manufactured/prepared on shared equipment with wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, fish, soya and shellfish and other allergens.
  • You must inform us of any dietary requirements and allergies that you and any other participants have at the time of booking and confirm those when you arrive for your cooking class.
  • We will provide you with a work area that does not have the ingredients you are allergic to, however, you are ultimately also responsible for avoiding allergens.
  • You alone are responsible, and we accept no responsibility, for ensuring that allergy and dietary requirements are looked after for anyone who consumes any food you take home from a cookery class.

 Liability

  • The Little Puddings has Public Liability insurance with cover provided by AXA Insurance.

Child Protection Policy

  • The Little Puddings are committed to ensuring that those working with children adopt best practice to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the participants.
  • The Little Puddings members of staff have been suitably trained in Child Protection and Health, Safety and Welfare issues as well as all the staff has been screened to confirm their suitability to work with children. Where appropriate this will include enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
  • The best cooking practices guidelines are always followed.
  • The Little Puddings won’t tolerate any poor practice, bullying or any potential form of abuse.

“Anti-Bullying Policy”

  • We are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all children so they can take part in a relaxed and secure atmosphere
  • If bullying does occur, all children should be able to tell and know that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively. Anyone who knows that bullying is happening is expected to tell the staff.

What is bullying?

  • Bullying is undesirable and unacceptable and WILL NOT be tolerated in any form. Bullying includes:
  • • Physical pushing, pinching, kicking, spitting.
  • • Verbal name calling, sarcasm, teasing, ridicule, ignoring.
  • • Sexual, Religious, Gender, Disability comments/suggestion.
  • • Cyber bullying.
  • Any incidence of bullying will be listened to and taken seriously. This can be done directly with the The Little Puddings teacher or email.

Procedures

1. Report bullying incidents to The Little Puddings teacher. The teacher will deal with the incident as quickly as possible ensuring that both sides of the story are listened to and recorded.

2. In serious cases parents will be informed and will be asked to come in to a meeting to discuss the problem

3. The bullying behavior or threats of bullying will be investigated, and the bullying stopped quickly

4. An attempt will be made to help the bully (or bullies) change their behavior

Outcomes

1. The bully (bullies) may be asked to genuinely apologise. Other consequences may take place.

2. In serious cases, the child may be asked to leave the course.

3. If possible, the children will be reconciled

4. After the incident / incidents have been investigated and dealt with, each case will be monitored to ensure repeated bullying does not take place.

Equality Policy

  • The Little Puddings are committed to exemplary standards of conduct through the principles of equality and good moral and ethical frameworks. The club will encourage individuals from all communities to become involved at all levels of participation and will ensure that all members and staff will:
    • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every human being.
    • Treat others fairly and equally regardless of gender, age, ethnic origin, religion or political persuasion or disability. Discrimination in any form will not be tolerated.
    • Permeate equity and equality throughout strategic and development plans.

Program Changes

  • The Little Puddings are entitled to change the timing and/or content of any course and to substitute any teacher at any time.
  • In the event that The Little Puddings have to cancel a class or course for any reason, a credit note for the full value of the booking fee paid will be issued to the person who booked or alternative provisions to stage the class or course at another time will be arranged and confirmed to all. If you are unable to attend at the alternatively arranged time and confirm this to The Little Puddings, you will be issued with a credit note to the full value of the booking fee paid.

Collection

  • Any child that is collected must be collected by a parent or guardian. Any other arrangements must be provided in writing.
  • Any child that normally walks home unaccompanied will only be allowed to leave unaccompanied if a parent or guardian has provided written consent prior to the commencement of the course.
  • All parents will be given a 15-minute grace period on late collection of their child.  If your child has still not been collected 15 minutes after the activity has ended, then a £10 fee will be charged.  An additional £10 fee will be added every subsequent 15 minutes.
  • Unreasonable and / or persistent lateness may regrettably result in The Little Puddings terminating the course.

Guidelines for dealing with an accident or incident:

• Stay calm but act swiftly and observe the situation. Is there danger of further injuries?

• Listen to what the injured person is saying.

• Contact a First Aider to take appropriate action.

• Do not move someone with suspected major injuries. Wait for the emergency medics.

• Deal with the rest of the group and ensure that they are adequately supervised.

• Contact the injured person’s parent / guardian / next of kin

• Assist the First Aider to complete an incident / accident report form.

Policies & Procedures

Complaints

  • The Little Puddings are committed to provide the best possible service we can. To achieve this, we need feedback and evaluation. Therefore, we want to hear your comments about the things we do well, or any ideas for improvement. Please tell us verbally, via email (info@thelittlepuddings.com), or in writing. Equally if you have a concern, criticism or complaint we need to know about, would ask that you follow the procedure detailed below in order that we can address the issue.
  1. Select the appropriate person to talk.
    1. Arrange a mutually convenient time to discuss the matter.
    2. If through discussion the issue cannot be addressed immediately, agree a verbal action plan by which the problem can be resolved. This may first involve clarification and/or observation of the situation causing concern.
    3. If you are not fully satisfied with the outcome, please record your complaint in writing and post it to The Little Puddings, 22 Banbury Road, Woodstock, OX20 1LQ.
    4. A meeting will be arranged to discuss the matter within 14 days of receipt of the written complaint and you will receive a response in writing within a further 14 days.

Social Networking and The Little Puddings

  • The Little Puddings believe that Facebook and Instagram are both fantastic ways to communicate with our children and parents and to demonstrate the fantastic work that the children are doing. They are also useful for passing on notices to all of our children/parents and wider audience.
  • While there are many positive aspects of using social media to communicate, we are aware that there are potential disciplinary and safeguarding concerns which stem from
  • the improper use by members and The Little Puddings staff / volunteers.
  • Please note that all communication by The Little Puddings will be via the official Facebook page (@thelittlepuddings) and the official Instagram feed (@thelittlepuddings).

Information

  • The information on this site is updated regularly. However, we hereby exclude any warranties (whether expressed or implied) as to the quality, accuracy, efficacy, completeness, performance, and fitness for a particular purpose of the site.
  • These Terms and Conditions form the entire agreement between you and The Little Puddings.
  • By booking a course with The Little Puddings you are acknowledging your full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and confirm that you have not relied on any other representation other than those contained within these Terms and Conditions.
  • If any term within these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable by a competent Court then such term shall be struck out but the remaining terms within these Terms and Conditions shall continue in force to the full extent permitted by law.
  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England.
